After 15 years my research has come full circle.  Sponsoring the name of René Mouchotte on the BOB Memorial Wall led me onto a search for this kind, gentle and heroic man.  My search took me to Paris and Père Lachaise Cemetery; Westende where his body washed up on a beach; Middelkerke where he was buried until exhumed and repatriated and given a Funeral with full military honours at Les Invalides in Paris.  I met his 101 year old sister and members of the Mouchotte family. 

In 2013 I was fortunate enough to be able to have a short documentary shown on BBC SE; was invited to Gibraltar for the renaming of the RAF HQ - Mouchotte Buildings and now finally, with the aid of Dilp Sarkar (well known WW2 Historian) we’ve succeeded in having René’s Memoirs republished with all the original Appendices; a Foreword by Lord Ricketts and the Epilogue outlining my Search.
